Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Leap Ocatve by Klowra.
Leap Ocatve: A graceful bound across frequencies.
Like a deer leaping nimbly through the forest, effortlessly bounding across dimensions with every stride—this captures the very essence of the Leap Octave. This ultra-compact polyphonic octave and freeze pedal with freeze sustain capabilities is meticulously designed to harness that vibrant, touch-responsive, dynamic playing response.
Achieving total spectrum mastery with a pristine high-fidelity tone, its advanced polyphonic pitch engine utilizes low latency polyphonic tracking to ensure glitch-free tracking that syncs flawlessly with your pick attack. Whether you are playing complex chord voicings or intricate single-note textures, the tone remains immaculately clean throughout the polyphonic synthesis. With it, you can effortlessly dial in a chimey 12-string simulation, tight bass emulation for guitarists, or delicate organ and synthesizer emulations.
A simple press of the footswitch triggers the Freeze function, instantly rolling out an immersive, infinite harmonic bed. Paired with the symphonic textures of the multi-phase detune, it adds a profound sense of movement and rich harmonic layers to your octaves. The built-in 3-mode filter allows you to finely sculpt your tonal contours, perfectly accommodating everything from microscopic sonic details to acting as a massive soundscape generator. Balancing the purity of a studio-quality pedal with the vast potential of a deep synth pedal, it acts as a true one-man orchestra engine, introducing beautifully layered, multi-voiced dimensions to your signal chain.
Controls
+OCT
Adjust the output level of the upper octave signal.
-OCT
Adjust the output level of the lower octave signal.
DRY
Adjust the volume level of your clean, unaffected instrument signal.
TONE
Shapes the EQ of your sound. The specific function is determined by the central toggle switch.
Toggle Switch
Selects the operational mode for the TONE knob:
-
LP - Low Pass Filter
In this mode, the TONE knob adjusts the cutoff frequency of a low-pass filter, allowing low frequencies to pass while attenuating the highs. This filter is applied exclusively to the +OCT, leaving your dry and -OCT entirely unaffected.
-
TILT - TILT EQ
In this mode, the TONE knob acts as a global tilt-EQ, with a flat frequency response in the center, more treble and less bass as you turn the knob clockwise, and less treble and more bass as you turn the knob counterclockwise. This EQ is applied to -OCT, +OCT, and dry signals simultaneously. The boost and cut utilize a shelving filter at 1200Hz.
-
HP - High Pass Filter
In this mode, the TONE knob adjusts the cutoff frequency of a high-pass filter, allowing high frequencies to pass while attenuating the lows. This filter is applied exclusively to -OCT, leaving your dry and +OCT entirely unaffected.
Footswitch
Control ON/OFF. Press&Hold to trigger Freeze.
-
Freeze
The Freeze effect captures a brief snapshot of your sound—such as a chord, note, or ambient noise—and holds it in place, creating a static, sustained pad that you can play over in real time.
Indicate LED
The LED color indicates the selected DETUNE type.In bypass, the LED is off.
DETUNE Button
Click the button to switch Detune values:
-
LED White: Clean
Delivers pristine, high-fidelity polyphonic octave tracking. This mode provides the tightest and clearest dynamic response, perfect for standard single-note or chord playing requiring precise pitch, or for tight bass emulation.
-
LED Blue: Shallow
Introduces a subtle multi-phase pitch shift, adding just the right amount of width and warm spatial presence to your signal. The tone becomes fuller and more three-dimensional, ideal for dialing in a chimey 12-string simulation or delicate classic organ vibrato effects.
-
LED Orange: Deep
Applies a pronounced detuning to create massive, swirling symphonic textures. When paired with the Freeze function, it instantly transforms your signal into a massive soundscape generator, rolling out a highly enveloping, synth-like infinite harmonic bed.
Rear Panel I/O
9V DC
Connect to a 9V DC power supply with a center-negative polarity and a minimum current rating of 150mA.
Note: If the power supply is insufficient, the pedal may malfunction.
IN L (Mono)
1/4" mono (TS) unbalanced left input for mono setups.
OUT L (Mono)
1/4" mono (TS) unbalanced left output for mono setups.
CTRL
3.5mm TS input for connecting an external footswitch.
Note: This input only recognizes TS footswitch signals to trigger the Freeze function. Its operation is identical to a long press of the onboard footswitch (momentary trigger, no insertion detection).
Power-Up Modes
How To enter Power-Up Modes:
Press & hold the footswitch while powering on the pedal. A flashing LED indicates successful entry. Once your settings are configured, press the footswitch again to exit Power-Up Modes.
In this mode, you can adjust the following settings:
Bypass Modes
Switch between modes by short-press the DETUNE button.
-
True Bypass
The signal is routed directly through the pedal with no buffering or coloration.
-
Green LED flashes to indicate True Bypass mode.
-
Buffered Bypass
The signal is routed through a buffer with Analog Dry Through, allowing delay trails to continue after the effect is bypassed.
Red LED flashes to indicate Buffered Bypass mode.
LED Brightness
Adjust by rotating the -OCT knob.
- Turn fully left for dimmest.
- Turn fully right for brightest.
