South Zoo Voice Synth is probably our cutest pedal to date! From cute cats and noisy frogs to crazy ponies, it has all your wacky sonic needs covered.
But make no mistake, it's not just a novelty, it is genuinely playable.

Crazy Croaker
Showcasing the pedal's organic, breathing sound fusion, this "Crazy Frog" cover highlights the core playability of its triple-voice synthesis algorithm. By blending a bright frog lead with a warm cat rhythm, it completely reshapes traditional guitar tones into bizarre animal-inspired synthesized vocal textures.
Resonant Frog Lead: Selecting the FROG mode, this lead pushes the MIX, DETAIL, and SPEED controls to their absolute extremes. Instead of digital clipping, this triggers massive envelope resonance and rhythmic, repeating frog croaks. Cranked TAILS ensure these quirky, pulsating textures seamlessly connect your jumping melody lines.
Warm Cat Foundation: Switching to the CAT mode, the rhythm track takes the opposite approach. Rolling the DETAIL knob all the way off strips the overt animal character, leaving a round, vocal, wah-like effect with a nasal honk. Moderate SPEED and TAILS settings trigger a lazy, dynamic and expressive filter sweep, providing a solid, dragging groove beneath the hyperactive lead.

Lotus Pond
Stepping into the ambient realm, this setup stacks the pedal into an external reverb to transform the FROG mode into a spatial texture. It proves this animal-inspired synthesizer pedal isn't just for bizarre leads, but also serves as a delicate ambient sweetener, blending an organic, breathing sound fusion with your dry signal.
Transparent Mix & Restrained Envelope: Lowering the MIX keeps your dry guitar driving the melody. Dialing back TAILS restrains the physical sustain of the animal voice, letting your external reverb handle the spatial decay. A moderate SPEED setting ensures a natural, breathing dynamic envelope decay perfectly suited for ambient swells.
Clear Organic Overtone Accents: Despite the low wet blend, maxing out the DETAIL control fully ignites the physical grit and high-frequency harmonics of the FROG mode. Paired with Pitch Follow to perfectly lock onto your guitar's pitch, every triggered rhythmic, repeating frog croak sits beautifully in the background while remaining texturally thick and incredibly articulate.

Hajimi Melody
Showcasing the precise Pitch Follow tracking, this dual-track setup blends cat and horse synth voices to create a whimsical "Hajimi" melody. It perfectly validates the pedal's tracking stability where voices perfectly lock onto your guitar's pitch, providing a great reference for building cinematic musical vignettes.
Smooth Cat Lead: Engaging Pitch Follow ensures the animal voices perfectly lock onto your pitch. Rolling off the DETAIL control magnifies the round, vocal, wah-like effect of the CAT mode. Maxed-out TAILS paired with a moderately fast SPEED yields a smooth, breathing legato synth texture.
Galloping Horse Rhythm: The rhythm track switches to the HORSE mode. A higher DETAIL setting intentionally retains the aggressive, high-frequency bite and sharper tone characteristic of an equine voice. A fast SPEED combined with dialed-back TAILS shapes a bouncy, galloping groove in a fully wet mix, providing a gritty rhythmic foundation for the lead.

Hatsune Leek
Inspired by the classic Leek Polkka, this setup proves the flawless tracking of the Pitch Follow mode during rapid, bouncy melodies. By pairing a piercing Horse lead with a fat Frog rhythm, it demonstrates the complementary frequency balance of the animal voices, providing a great reference for a thick, clash-free mix.
Piercing Horse Lead: Engaging Pitch Follow ensures the synth voices perfectly lock onto your guitar's pitch during rapid scalar runs. A high DETAIL setting in a fully wet MIX maximizes the aggressive, high-frequency bite of the HORSE mode. This gives the catchy melody a sharper, more piercing tone that cuts clearly through the mix. A moderate SPEED setting ensures the vocalization tightly tracks your brisk picking.
Bouncy Frog Rhythm: The rhythm track switches to the FROG mode. Rolling back the DETAIL control strips some overt animal character to create a warm, thick foundation. Paired with a moderately fast SPEED and generous TAILS, every strum triggers a quirky, pulsating texture and bouncy low-end resonance, firmly supporting the lead.

Classic Auto-Wah
Stepping away from bizarre animal vocal tracts, this setup proves the pedal's solid foundation as a traditional envelope filter. Stacked with distortion, the South Zoo transforms from an animal-inspired synthesizer pedal into a highly musical, studio-quality Auto-Wah that seamlessly integrates into your pedalboard.
Smooth, Grit-Free Wah: Selecting the CAT mode, rolling the DETAIL off entirely strips the synth-like harshness. This pure, round envelope prevents piercing high-end stacking when paired with an external distortion pedal. It delivers a dynamic and expressive filter sweep that closely mimics a smooth, traditional analog wah.
Snappy & Tight Dynamics: Engaging Pitch Follow ensures the voices perfectly lock onto your guitar's pitch. A fast SPEED setting guarantees the wah envelope tracks your picking with surgical precision. A maxed-out MIX delivers a fully wet output, while dialed-back TAILS cut off excess sustain. This keeps high-speed distortion runs or heavy rhythm strumming pristine and snappy without any muddy lag.

Sleeping Cat
Showcasing the pedal's organic, breathing sound fusion, this setup highlights the dynamic envelope decay and MIX control. By blending a hyper-realistic cat lead with a piercing frog rhythm, it demonstrates massive sonic contrast and the pedal's potential for bizarre auditory illusions.
Hyper-Realistic Cat Meow: Selecting the CAT mode, rolling the DETAIL off entirely strips the overt synth character. By keeping the MIX below 100%, it naturally blends bizarre animal vocal tracts with your guitar signal, preserving your physical picking dynamics. Paired with maxed-out TAILS and a slow SPEED setting, it translates your string vibrations into a distinct "meow" character, giving the melody a smooth, vocal quality and life-like breath.
Piercing Frog Rhythm: The rhythm track takes the opposite approach in FROG mode. A fully wet MIX and maxed-out DETAIL control fully ignite the high-frequency harmonics and physical grit. A fast SPEED setting combined with maxed TAILS delivers an incredibly agile sweep response. This transforms the rhythm track into bright, compact, and piercing rhythmic, repeating frog croaks.
