Klowra Sprout Modulation Firmware v2.0.0 Update: Five Refined Effects, Smoother Control & Tighter Response

We have officially released firmware v2.0.0 for the Klowra Sprout Modulation.

This update refines all five effect algorithms, bringing warmer modulation tones, smoother parameter control, and a more natural playing response. System latency and dry/wet phase alignment have also been improved, helping Sprout feel tighter and more immediate across different playing styles.

Chorus: From Vintage Warmth to Modern Clarity

The Chorus algorithm has been revoiced for a warmer, more fluid modulation character inspired by classic analog chorus sounds.

The Texture control has also been redesigned. Rather than making an abrupt tonal change, it now moves smoothly from nostalgic warmth to a clearer, more modern chorus response.

This gives players a wider and more usable range of colors from a single control.

Dry and wet signal blending has also been refined across the Mix range. At the maximum Mix setting, an appropriate amount of analog dry presence remains, helping the effect retain depth and a natural sense of movement.

Flanger: Fuller Saturation and Deeper Movement

The Flanger algorithm has been tuned for a warmer and more saturated character.

Its sweep now feels fuller and more dimensional, with a smoother transition through the modulation cycle. The result is a rich, classic-style flanging sound that works equally well for subtle motion, wide stereo textures, and more pronounced sweeping effects.

Phaser: A Warmer Eight-Stage Character

The Phaser has been refined to more closely capture the character of a vintage eight-stage JFET design.

Compared with the previous firmware, the updated voicing feels warmer and more organic, with smoother movement and less noticeable digital coloration. It retains clarity while adding more depth and musicality to clean tones, driven sounds, and atmospheric textures.

Filter: Smoother Control at Higher Resonance

The Filter update focuses on control response and level consistency.

The Texture control curve has been optimized to make tonal changes feel smoother and easier to dial in. Level compensation has also been improved across the control range.

At higher Q—or resonance—settings, the output level is now managed more carefully. This helps reduce the possibility of unwanted clipping while preserving the expressive peaks and movement expected from an analog-synth-style ladder filter.

Rotary: Improved Horn and Drum Balance

The Rotary algorithm now features a refined tonal balance between the high-frequency Horn and low-frequency Drum components.

This adjustment improves the perceived movement and spatial depth of the effect, creating a more cohesive and immersive rotary speaker experience. From gentle motion to faster, more animated rotation, the sound now sits more naturally around the dry signal.

Lower Latency and Improved Phase Alignment

Beyond the individual effects, firmware v2.0.0 includes several under-the-hood improvements to Sprout’s core processing.

Overall system latency has been reduced for a more immediate playing response. The phase relationship between the dry and effected signals has also been improved, helping mixed settings sound tighter and more coherent.

Together, these refinements make Sprout feel more responsive without changing the straightforward workflow that players already know.
